Pulteney's Regiment
(13th Foot)
We are a UK based group re-enacting the period from 1740 to 1760 but specializing in the dates 1742-50. We aim to recreate as authentically as possible a unit of soldiers in King George II's service and in so doing both entertain and educate the public.
Since being formed in 1994 we have taken part in events across the country and have been featured in a BBC documentary about the Bayonet. We have performed drill displays for the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst and contributed to events for English Heritage, such as History in Action (The largest multi-period historical festival in the world). With the other members of
Lace Wars
(The Confederation of Mid Eighteenth Century Re-enactors) we re-create the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745-46. This war is known for the battles of Prestonpans, Falkirk and Culloden, and for the escape of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (The Young Pretender).
Pulteney's also take part in events organized by New
France & Old England (Europe's Society of The French and Indian
Wars). Fought in North America between 1754 and 1763, made famous by
James Fenimore's classic novel 'The Last of the Mohicans'.
